phone that never rings

It's called irony; the fact that I love love love phones, handsets, devices, whatever you wish to call them and love buying bigger and better ones, but never use them. I suppose it's my subconscious telling me that if I buy a phone, a better phone, a neater phone, a sleeker phone; that someone will feel compelled to actually call me; however, I know better. I suppose it's silly for me to check my phone nine million times a day looking for a phone call that will never happen and then to get mad at the phone because it doesn't. It's not really the phone's fault; it's perhaps even more silly to be upset for the phone because it doesn't make calls either.

It's not the phone's fault either way, because it actually does both of those things perfectly; it is in fact, the operator who doesn't use the phone. It is the operator who has decided to not return those calls that had been received once upon the time. It is the operator who does not call those who want to receive a phone call from the operator. It is the operator who has made anyone who would want to call (and/or receive a call) stop wanting to call (or receive). I think that's called irony as well. At least the operator understands the predicament he has placed himself into and really understand it's not the phone's fault; and that anger is misplaced. However, it doesn't make the sadness really lurking behind the anger any less sad.

Cheers.
